Adoption Services
Adoption is a service for children who cannot be cared for by their birth parents and who need and can benefit from new and permanent family ties established through a legal process. Adoption services are provided to children who need permanent families, birth parents who are unable to parent their children, and adoptive parents who want to provide a home for a child not born to them.
Adult Protective Services
Reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elders and adults with disabilities are investigated. Services are developed to prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation of these populations.
Adult Services
Home- and community-based services allow the elderly or
adults with disabilities to remain in their homes rather than move to
institutional placements. Screening for adult care residence and nursing
facility placements is provided.
Child Care Services
Eligible working families may receive help in
paying care costs. Most families are required to pay a portion of the
cost of care, with the care program paying the remainder.
Child Protective Services
Anyone may report suspected child abuse or
neglect. Valid reports will be investigated or a family assessment will
be completed to determine if services are needed. Services are also
provided to prevent child abuse and/or neglect. To report possible child
abuse or neglect, please call the Child Protective Services Hotline at (800) 552-7096.
Foster Care
Temporary care is arranged for children who cannot be in their own homes.
