is a policy advisory community services board established for the purpose of providing local public mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse services
no member shall serve more than three terms and appointments shall be broadly representative of the community
1/3 of the Board should be consumers or family members of consumers
one or more may be non-governmental services providers
sheriffs or their designees shall also be included when practical
no employee or board member of an organization which receives funding from any community services board shall be appointed a member of the board
no board shall be composed of a majority of local government officials, elected or appointed, nor shall any locality be represented by more than 2 elected or appointed officials
governed by State Code Section 37.1-195 et seq
includes one appointed representative from New Kent and Charles City County
