The Commonwealth of Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources wants to hear from You!
Flooding is the most common and costly natural disaster in the Commonwealth and the United States. Virginia’s Coastal Region is home to more than 70 percent of the Commonwealth’s population and in recent years, development in flood-prone areas has increased flood risk in the Commonwealth’s coastal communities. Additionally, Virginia has the highest rate of sea level rise change of any east coast state, putting billions of dollars in private property and infrastructure in danger.
The Secretary of Natural Resources has developed a Public Stakeholder Survey to gather: local perceptions and interest in the Coastal Resilience Master Plan project; inform the technical study effort; and provide insight into how your community would prefer to be involved and contacted during future flooding resilience outreach efforts. The Survey can be completed online here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VACRMP-Public
