The Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) Budget went into effect July 1, 2022. Here's a recap:
The 2021 tax rate for New Kent County was $0.79 per $100. The equalized tax rate for 2022 is $0.66 per $100. Supervisors voted to increase the rate by one penny to $0.67 per $100.
Also this year, the Board of Supervisors lowered the personal property tax rate from $3.75 to $3.10 for automobiles, including motorcycles. The rate for boats and campers dropped from $3.75 to $3.25.
There were no increases in water and sewer rates for FY23.
