Do you or someone you know need assistance with holiday gifts for a child or senior adult that resides in New Kent? The Department of Social Services Christmas Assistance program is now available. Residents apply online, or call the agency at 804-966-1853 x 5136 to request an application be mailed or to apply via phone.  Deadline to apply for assistance is Wednesday, December 14.

With the holidays approaching fast, the New Kent Department of Social Services is asking for your help to support children, families, and seniors in New Kent County. Please share the joy of giving by donating, getting others involved, and spreading the word. All donations must be received by Friday, December 16, 2022.

How to become involved:

  • Sponsor a child, teen. senior, or family for Christmas. 
  • Donate new & unwrapped gifts.
  • Donate gift cards. 
  • Create a gift basket. 
  • Donate gift wrapping; boxes, bows, and ribbons.
  • Make a cash donation.
