Early voting in New Kent County

Many are asking how they can vote early in New Kent County. ALL early voting is taking place at the General Registrar's Office (in the Health & Human Services Building, located directly behind the New Kent Post Office). Early voting is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31. A full sample ballot and other information concerning the Tuesday, November 3, 2020 General Election can be found on the County's website at Voter Registration. Those who prefer to vote on election day can find their polling place on the County's Find Your Polling Place App.

COVID-19 emergency assistance available through New Kent Department of Social Services

Those who need emergency assistance due to COVID-19 can Apply Now on the New Kent Social Services webpage or call (804) 966-1853. Assistance with rent/mortgage, electric bill, water bill, medication or childcare costs are available.

Prescription drug take back event on Saturday at NKSO

The New Kent County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration - Office of Diversion Control. You can drop off unwanted/unused prescription drugs at the New Kent Sheriff's Office (11995 Courthouse Circle, New Kent) . You are invited to bring any potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs for disposal (no liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches). The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday

The New Kent County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. on October 27, 2020 for a work session. Items on the agenda include a legislative update from Congressman Rob Wittman; the approval of the Emergency Operations Plan Update; a Pine Fork Park update; discussion of the CARES Coronavirus Relief Funds Expenditure Plan; discussion of the zoning enforcement of the signage ordinance and more.
