March 12 shredding/recycling event

Don't know what to do with old papers or confidential documents? Shred them! Don't know what to do with your old electronics, eye glasses, hearing aids and tires? Recycle them!

The Clean County Committee is sponsoring a paper shredding event on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event will be held in the New Kent County Administration Building parking lot (12007 Courthouse Circle, New Kent) and is free for New Kent County residents.

Also at this event - please help us collect food and financial donations for the New Kent Animal Shelter. Preferred food to help aid in the health of our furry friends: Purina Pro, Hills, Blue Buffalo, Pedigree, IAMS, Friskies, and Meow Mix. Make checks payable to the New Kent Animal Shelter.

March 8 statewide tornado drill

Mark your calendars. This year's Statewide Tornado Drill is taking place Tuesday, March 8 at 9:45 a.m.

Every school, business, workplace, and family across the commonwealth is strongly encouraged to participate. The drill will be broadcast on NOAA Weather Radio and the Emergency Alert System via the Required Monthly Test (RMT). There WILL NOT be an actual Tornado Warning issued.

Board of Supervisors to meet on Tuesday, February 14, 2022

The New Kent County Board of Supervisors will meet for their monthly business meeting on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place in the New Kent County Administration Building (12007 Courthouse Circle, New Kent).
