Fire-Rescue Santa Run RoutesAgain this year, Santa is making his rounds in New Kent County through next week courtesy of New Kent Fire-Rescue. Santa trackers are posted each evening on the New Kent Fire-Rescue Facebook page so residents can see just when Santa will be nearby. ** The schedule is subject to change due to emergency calls or weather conditions. ** If you do not see your road listed, please go to the closest road to you. Due to time constraints, if you live on a cul-de-sac, dirt road, or private road, we may not be able to drive through.
Route 249 East to Tunstall Road to Tunstall Road to Greenwood Estates, Kenwood Farms, Deer Lake, and Rochambeau Estates, continue past Essex Hills Road and Marl Springs Road (We are asking residents of Rochambeau Estates living on cul-de-sacs to come to the nearest thru street to see Santa). (Residents living on Stingray Point Ct. are asked to come to Stingray Point Rd. to see Santa). (Residents living on Essex Hills Rs and Marl Springs Rd. are asked to come to Tunstall Rd to see Santa).

Route 1- Chickahominy Shores, Turner’s Landing, The Colonies, South Waterside Drive, Carters Rd, Rockahock Road, Outpost Rd, and Good Hope Rd.
Route 2- West on Route 249 to Old Roxbury Road. Old Roxbury Road to Henpeck Road to Sassafras Drive to Magnolia Woods Subdivision and all sections of Five Lakes Subdivision. (Any residents in Magnolia Woods and Five Lakes living in cul-de-sacs and dead-end streets are asked to please come to the nearest main street to see Santa. Residents on Shoreline Drive beyond Club Drive are asked to come to Club Drive to see Santa. Residents on Ridge Road are asked to come to either intersection Hair Pin Drive to see Santa.) (Residents on the following roads please come to the main road to see Santa, Acorn Lane, Old Nottingham Road, Marcella Lane, Liberty Hall Road, Crosses Grove Road and Timber Ridge Road).
Route 1- Mt. Pleasant Rd., Landing Rd., Carriage Road, Townsend Rd, Boulevard Rd, South Courthouse, Kenthill Ln., Pocahontas Trail from N. Courthouse to Timberlake Rd., and Olivet Church Rd
Route 2- West on Route 249 to Route 60 East. East on Route 60 to Patriots Landing Subdivision, and Cumberland Station Subdivision.
Route 1- Minitree Glen, Minitree Hill, Old Forge Road, North Courthouse Rd, Poindexter Rd., Rock Cedar Rd., Deer Run (Including Beaver Pt.) Wildfox Ln, Egypt Rd, The Oaks and Creeks Edge
Route 2- Route 249 East, to Crumps Mill Road to George Watkins Road to Iden’s Crossing, Pine Fork Road to Pine Fork Park (all residents of Pine Fork Park subdivision are asked to come to intersection of Bristlecone Blvd. and Pine Straw Ln. to see Santa). Rt on Pine Fork Rd to Emmaus Church Road to The Arbors Subdivision, New Arbor Drive to the intersection with Sedge Dr / Uplands Dr (all residents are asked to come to this intersection to see Santa, the residents living on Arbor Ponds Terrace are asked to come to New Arbor Dr to see Santa). Cross over Rt 106 to Four Seasons Subdivision and the Groves Subdivision, left into Four Seasons and cross over to the Groves, (residents of the Villas at the Groves should come to the intersection of Metalist Ln and Four Seasons Ridge Lane to see Santa). Return to Emmaus Church Road to Golden Wheel Road, Golden Wheel Road to Baylor Court back to Emmaus Church Road left toward Rt 60 (End) Residents on the following roads, Parish Road, Mihalcoe Lane, Bailey Ridge Road and Mountcastle Road are asked to come to Emmaus Church Rd. to see Santa. (Residents living on the 2 cul-de-sacs in Iden’s Crossing subdivision are asked to come to the intersection of Harrison Bluff Lane and Iden Place). (Residents living on the gravel portion of Crumps Mill Road and Hadley Hill Ln. are asked to come to the end of the paved portion of Crumps Mill Road to see Santa).
Route 1- Plum Point, Virginia Ave, Brown Ave, Piper Dr., Curle Dr., Parks Rd, Stage Rd, and Moore’s Ln. Holly Fork to Triangle Rd, right onto Tabernacle, right onto Richardson Rd, right onto Route 30, ending at the Safe and Sound parking lot.
Route 2- West on Route 249 to Quinton Road to Cosby Mill Road to Hopewell Road to Old Church Road to Talleysville Road to White House Farms return to Old Church Road to New Kent Winery, (Residents of Viniterra are asked to come to Angels Share Terrace and Terrior Ln (entrance to winery) to see Santa. Residents on St. Peter Lane come to Talleysville Road. (End) (Residents living in the Ranch Acers Subdivision are asked to come to Cosby Mill Road to see Santa and residents living on Locke Lane, Groves Road, Orchard Lane, Laurel Road, New Town Road, Mt Airy Drive and McLaughlin Lane should come to the Hopewell Road to see Santa). (Residents living on Steel Trap Road are asked to come to the intersection of Hopewell Rd and Steel Trap Rd to see Santa). (Residents on Continental Road, Huntsman Trail and Wildlife Ridge Road are asked to come to Cosby Mill Road to see Santa. Residents of Cosby Mill Acres Subdivision and Skivers Road are asked to come to Cosby Mill Road to see Santa). (Residents living on Kenleigh Drive are asked to come to New Kent Hwy to see Santa). Board of Supervisors to meet twice next week, Planning Commission meets December 19The New Kent County Board of Supervisors will meet for the regularly scheduled business meeting next week - Monday, December 12, 2022 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place in the New Kent County Administration Building (12007 Courthouse Circle, New Kent). Four public hearings will take place at Monday's meeting, in addition to other items.
The Board will also meet with the New Kent Economic Development Authority for their yearly joint meeting on Thursday, December 15, 2022, 8:30 a.m., at the New Kent Visitors and Commerce Center, 7324 Vineyards Parkway, New Kent, VA 23124. The business meeting can be watched live via YouTube or replayed on Cox Communications Channel 48 at 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. beginning on the day following the meeting.
Additionally, the New Kent County Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting. The agenda includes a presentation on the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), a public hearing on subdivision ordinance amendments to align certain road requirements with the requirements in the 2018 Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code, and more.
