Recycle your Christmas tree at the County's main refuse & recycling site

Ready to recycle your tree? You can drop it off at the County's main refuse site in the brush recycling area. The Route 618 refuse & recycling center is located at 6301 Olivet Church Road and is open daily, 7am to 7pm.

All trees must be free of ornaments, lights, tinsel and hardware prior to drop off.

4-H Jr. Overnight Summer Camp registration opens Monday

Registration for this summer's 4-H Jr. Overnight Summer Camp will open on Monday, January 9 at 9am. Camp, which is held at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, will be held July 24 through July 28 and is open to youth ages nine to 13.

4-H Jr. Overnight Summer Camp is hosted by Virginia Cooperative Extension annually. The cost is $360 for campers from New Kent as well as James City, Williamsburg, Charles City, King William and King and Queen.

The Virginia Employment Commission will have a representative at New Kent Department of Social Services to assist residents with their job search and unemployment.
